BEDDING IN NEW BRAKE MAN PADS
Brake Man pads are pre-cured to maximize performance and life, and simplify bed in.
-Brake Man pads can be used on your existing rotors* as long as the rotors are thoroughly de-glazed or cut to remove any old pad material build up
*some production vehicle rotor materials MUST be cut before installing pads, if you are concerned about your application, please call.
-On new Brake Man rotors lightly scuff the pad swept areas to remove the protective coating and allow the pads to seat
-Verfiy proper pedal operation after installing the pads
On The Track
Bring the pads up to operating temperature in a normal fashion. Pedal feel will improve as the pads are heated for the first time. After the pads have been at temperature for a full lap, bring the vehicle in and allow the pads to cool. This will fully bed in the pads, and you are ready to race.
On The Street
Give yourself room to stop on cold new pads! Bring the pads up to operating temperature by performing medium-high effort stops in a controlled and safe environment. If possible, do not allow the vehcile to come to a complete stop. Once the pads are at temperature, park the vehicle and allow the pads to cool. Pads will be fully bedded within 100 miles.
With any compound, if you observe black streaking on the rotors or poor performnace, the pads were not properly beeded and need higher temperatures.
Drag Racing applications do not generate enough heat to properly bed pads, so be sure to use our #1 compound pad which has been specifically formulated for this environment.

Tech Tip: On race vehicles, periodically sand the pad swept area of the rotors to remove pad material build up and ensure consistent torque output. This applies to any manufacturer's pads.
